About the Project

Overview This facility was opened within the grounds of the company's headquarters in Kitakyushu by TOTO, a leading company in Japan for water-related products, as a commemorative project for the 100th anniversary of the company's founding. The TOTO Museum is located on the second floor of the facility and consists of three exhibition rooms and a special exhibition room. It exhibits everything from historical materials to the latest products, and aims to be a central facility for promoting the TOTO brand from Kokura, the company's birthplace, to the world.
Issues/Themes By exhibiting the many bathroom products and documents that have been preserved and collected to date, the museum aims to introduce the founding spirit and passion for manufacturing, as well as the history and evolution of how the company has created Japanese lifestyle and culture.
Space Solution/Realization The exhibits were organised around the themes of "Bathroom Culture and History," "Company and Manufacturing," "Products," and the "Corporate Spirit" that is the foundation of these. Each corner was designed to suit its own theme, making the aim of each clear. Also, by keeping in mind the underlying corporate message of "Make tomorrow a different 'Every Day,'" we were able to create a facility that allows visitors to experience the charm of the bathroom culture and company that TOTO has built, helping to further stimulate corporate activity.
