Expressing the brand's worldview while taking advantage of the characteristics of the town where the store is located
Photo: Nacása & Partners Inc.
| Overview | We assisted in creating the spaces for two stores that opened in 2017 for the original baby clothing brand "MARLMARL." The Kyoto Sanjo-dori store is a street-front store located on a street lined with modern architecture. We created a modern store that makes use of the context of the town and the characteristics of the architecture. For the Yokohama Minato Mirai store, we created a space that was fun and easy to understand, as the store will be located in a facility where many families pass by. |

| Issues/Themes | To express the brand's worldview while taking advantage of the characteristics of the town where the store is located. Also, to create a shopping experience that parents and children can enjoy and remember while shopping for clothes. |
| Space Solution/Realization | At the Kyoto Sanjo-dori store, we made use of the historic arches of the modern architecture, while continuing the modern arches in the brand's colors into the store, creating a space that connects the streetscape, the architecture, and the brand's monochrome, abstract worldview into one. At the Yokohama Minato Mirai store, we created overlapping frameworks on the entire wall, creating a dancing display of products. In addition, both stores have photo spots where customers can enjoy trying on clothes, making the experience of trying on clothes a fun one, and we hope that the photos will be shared on social media, attracting more customers and gaining more brand fans. |
