About the Project

Overview TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO is Japan's premier entertainment complex, built around the themes of sports, mobility, and sustainability, based on the concept of "Betting on Possibilities." We were involved in creating spaces in multiple areas, with the aim of developing a new "sports spectator culture" in Japan.
The design is based on the themes of "the exhilaration of various entertainment including sports," "a refined and genuine sense of quality," and "a fusion of the essence of Tokyo," creating a highly satisfying Hospitality Spaces throughout the building.

In Art Direction work for the hospitality area, the entire concourse, and the office building of TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO, we considered the themes and artists to be conveyed in each area, as well as the location and method of exhibition, and coordinated the entire project based on the overall concept. We aimed to create art that is unique to TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO.
Issues/Themes As art that adds color to TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO, we will curate it by taking a bird's-eye view of the added value of TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO as a whole.
Since art does not have a blueprint and is often "unseen until it is complete," it is important to smoothly build a relationship of trust between the artist and the customer.
Space Solution/Realization The concept of the art was "to speak, to be written, to walk together," and the aim was for Art Direction to further reinforce the concept of "TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO," which is "to bet on possibilities."
A workshop was held to gather the various thoughts of customers and clarify the purpose of the art, as well as the theme and target audience that they wanted to convey. Trending artists were curated around the theme that was decided upon at the workshop. Furthermore, by sharing the keywords, background, and thoughts decided upon in the workshop in detail with each artist and holding repeated discussions, we were able to create art that was highly satisfying for both customers and artists, leading to the creation of added value for TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO as a whole.
Sustainable design Regional design: Some of the art represents various regions associated with Alvark Tokyo, expressing gratitude to the places that have supported them up until now and hopes for their success in new areas.
