About the Project

Overview We collaborated on the design of Nintendo's third official store in Japan, which opened in Kyoto, the company's birthplace. On the first floor, we placed a statue of Mario popping his head out from a giant warp pipe to surprise people walking along Shijo Street, the heart of Kyoto. On the seventh floor, the main sales floor, videos of characters are projected on the LED screen at the end of the red path, inviting guests into the world of Nintendo. When you go up to the rooftop and pass by various characters marching, you will be greeted by Mario holding onto the goal pole. As you ascend to the upper floors, you can experience the story as if progressing through a video game.
