Overview | At Niconico Chokaigi 2019, which was held under the concept of "recreating almost everything about Niconico on the ground," KADOKAWA sent out a message at their booth, celebrating the culmination of the Heisei era. The booth also aims to promote Tokorozawa Sakura Town, a complex planned to open in July 2020 by KADOKAWA and others, and is a space where visitors can get a sneak preview of the Kadokawa Musashino Museum, which will open within the facility. |

Issues/Themes | With the change of era to "Reiwa," the aim was to create a booth that would impressively display almost all of the books that KADOKAWA had published during the "Heisei" era. It would also serve as a PR tool for "Tokorozawa Sakura Town," raising visitors' expectations for the facility. |
Space Solution/Realization | A 10m-tall bookshelf was set up, containing nearly 30,000 books published by KADOKAWA. The overwhelming scale of the bookshelf, made of real books, amazed visitors. Also on display was a bookshelf designed by Kengo Kuma, which will be installed at the Kadokawa Musashino Museum after the museum opens. Projection mapping was performed on the bookshelf, giving visitors a sneak preview of the experiences they will have at the facility. In addition, an area was set up on the blackboard graphic wall where visitors could write their expectations for Tokorozawa Sakura Town. Visitors were encouraged to participate and share their thoughts, resulting in an impressive and lively booth. |
Design for Environment | We took Environmental Consideration into account by making trusses and other structures to standard dimensions, designing woodwork to economical dimensions, and using rental items where possible for trusses and system materials. |
