About the Project

Overview Kirishima Shuzo's factory tour facility, "KIRISHIMA WALK FACTORY," has completely changed the conventional factory tour method that mainly introduces the manufacturing process, and now focuses on disseminating the company's branding. The target audience is Tourism, inbound tourists, and locals. In the atrium at the entrance of the facility that stretches from the first to fourth floors, dynamic art that utilizes the space is used to promote the brand.
Issues/Themes By creating a spatial display that attracts visitors that is not available in existing factory tours, we aim to improve the appeal of the factory tour facility. By doing so, we aim to increase the brand's appeal. By conveying the appeal to Tourism and other visitors, we aim to expand the fan base and increase product purchasing desire, thereby contributing to profits.
Space Solution/Realization Based on the concept of "showing the invisible behind the scenes," the "invisible attention to detail" that lies in each process of shochu brewing is expressed through "art" that appeals to the emotions of visitors. In the entrance space, a huge Japanese painting and a mural showing the strata of the Shirasu Plateau were planned. In the theater, an inspiring Video was produced that tells the story of the world of shochu brewing from the perspective of a sweet potato. The aim was to create a well-balanced tour facility that visitors would not get bored of.
Design for Environment Universal design: Traffic flow and dimensions that take wheelchairs and children into consideration. Multilingual signage for foreign Tourism.
