We provide solutions for the satellite office business "ONS powered by point 0"
We will be participating in a demonstration experiment at the office space of the future, "point 0 marunouchi"
In cooperation with point0 Inc., we have offset (※3) the CO2 emissions (10t (※2)) during the renovation of conference rooms at point 0 Marunouchi, a members-only co-working space operated by point 0, in order to achieve carbon neutrality (※1) in the creation of office spaces.
In addition to using interior materials and furniture with low CO2 emissions, CO2 emissions are being reduced by recycling waste generated during space creation. In addition, the company has introduced DK-CONNECT, an IoT-based air conditioning management system provided by Daikin Industries, Ltd., a participant in the Point 0 Committee, a consortium for collaborative creation, to visualize the operating status of the air conditioning and operate it more efficiently, thereby contributing to reducing CO2 emissions generated during facility operation. In addition, to further reduce the environmental impact, the company has offset the CO2 emissions generated during the renovation of the conference rooms using the J-Credit Scheme (※4).
(*1) Carbon neutral: The achievement of balancing greenhouse gas emissions and absorption, thereby reducing overall greenhouse gas emissions to zero.
(*2) This renovation will result in approximately 10 tons of CO2 emissions. The calculation scope takes into account emissions from the raw materials, manufacturing and transportation stages of products procured for the renovation, as well as emissions from the renovation work itself. This is equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by approximately 700 cedar trees in one year (assuming that one cedar tree absorbs 14 kg of CO2 per tree per year). Emissions are calculated based on values provided by suppliers and our own calculations. For our own calculations, we used IDEA as our basic unit database.
(*3) Carbon offsetting: The idea is to first recognize the amount of greenhouse gases such as CO2 that are unavoidable in daily life and economic activities, and then make efforts to reduce them as much as possible. For any unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions, offsetting them by investing in greenhouse gas reduction activities commensurate with the amount of emissions.
(*4) J-Credit Scheme: A system in which the government certifies the amount of greenhouse gas emissions reduction or absorption, such as CO2, achieved through initiatives such as the introduction of energy-saving equipment and forest management, as "credits." Credits created through this system can be used for a variety of purposes, including achieving the goals of the Action Plan for a Low Carbon Society and carbon offsetting.
We will implement carbon offsetting for office renovations to achieve point 0 and carbon neutrality.
