About the Project

Overview HOKKAIDO WINE CO., LTD., Japan's largest winery that brews Japanese wine [wine produced domestically using only domestically grown grapes], is undertaking a renovation project for its headquarters and brewery as part of its efforts to strengthen and improve its brand value.
At the Otaru Wine Gallery, which is attached to the head office, the lounge where customers are welcomed and the brand shop have been renovated, and new content has been added, such as an introduction to the company's history, a large-scale Video of one of Japan's largest vineyards, and a tasting space in the underground space, on a winery tour course that allows visitors to experience the actual winemaking equipment. Through this hands-on winery tour, visitors can learn about the appeal of Hokkaido wine.
Issues/Themes The aim is to promote the appeal of the brand wines produced by HOKKAIDO WINE CO., LTD., increase the number of visitors, and improve the value of the products.
Our philosophy, which has remained unchanged since our founding, is that "winemaking is agriculture," and this is to convey that Hokkaido wine is the origin and soil of the region.
Space Solution/Realization The role of each area was clarified to increase the appeal to a wide range of visitors from Japan and abroad. The lounge and shop, which are sure to be a must-visit for visitors, were designed to provide information using bright, friendly tones and eye-catching Video and graphics to deepen interest and understanding in winemaking based on the company's philosophy. The winery viewing area, which requires reservations, is designed to allow visitors to fully enjoy the immersive atmosphere unique to a brewery, with the factory layout left intact and the exhibitions and spatial Spatial Production carefully designed not to interfere with the brewing process. In addition, a large Video screen that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the beautiful seasonal scenery of the company's direct farm, Tsurunuma Vineyard, and a tasting room renovated from a wine cellar have been newly installed Spatial Production a special atmosphere.
