  • Just when you think it's a still life painting on display, a part of it suddenly comes to life—such small discoveries gently unravel the senses and draw the viewer into a swirling, pleasant rhythm. A calm yet dramatic experience has been designed.

About the Project

Overview As part of the renovation plan accompanying the expansion of Daiohkai Daiichi Hospital, the health checkup center, formerly located on the 8th floor, was relocated and renovated on the 4th floor. Based on the concept of "a stroll through a healing forest," it was transformed into a space that supports the health maintenance of users. The aim was to create a place where users can feel both a greater interest in their health and a sense of relaxation as they move through the floor to the next examination, encouraging them to positively confront their own health.
Issues/Themes The goal is to update the pre-renovation health checkup center, which had a dignified and elegant atmosphere, to suit modern times. The aim is to renovate it to become a "health checkup center of choice" among multiple competing facilities.
Space Solution/Realization Based on the concept of "a stroll through a healing forest," we have created a well-being space themed around natural materials and sunlight. Furthermore, we view the waiting time for examinations as an opportunity to refresh, and have developed five digital art installations, each with a different theme, in each area. The space is designed to soothe anxieties before health checkups and provide a sense of healing.
Sustainable design Wellness Design: We aim to contribute to increasing the rate of health checkups in the community by creating a reassuring space that alleviates anxiety associated with examinations.
