A factory tour facility where you can intuitively experience the manufacturing process through all five senses
Photography: Taira Kurihara
Overview | This is a factory tour area set up in the "New Hiroshima Factory," which was completed to replace the Hongo Factory, which was shut down after suffering severe flood damage from the heavy rains that hit Western Japan in July 2018. The facility offers a "plant tour" that allows visitors to enjoy "surprises" as a new factory tour experience, in order to become a new symbol of Hiroshima, which has achieved reconstruction. |

Issues/Themes | Our goal is to provide visitors with a special experience with Coca-Cola in an extraordinary space, and to create a cutting-edge factory tour facility that will set a new standard for the future. |
Space Solution/Realization | In addition to the conventional objective factory tour of "seeing the manufacturing process," we aimed to provide a subjective factory tour where guests could "experience" the manufacturing process, and revamped the route so that guests themselves would become the ingredients of the beverage and tour the observation area. We also set up an "experience booth" where guests could intuitively experience the manufacturing process through the five senses, including sight and hearing, and created a "plant tour" where guests could enjoy "surprises" through spatial Spatial Production that bring out the excitement of the brand. |
Design for Environment | Universal design: Considering the facility's role as a global brand facility, all signage is in both Japanese and English. |
Client | Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. |
