Weaving a warm food scene with the theme of "anonymous sophistication"

Overview | Mimiu has been serving Japanese cuisine such as "Udon Suki" for over 250 years since its establishment, and has been passing down memories and memories surrounding food. We assisted with the renovation of the Shin Honmachi store, which was renovated by rebuilding the old Honmachi store and office. In the newly renovated two-floor store space, we aimed to design a restaurant that meets modern needs while also providing the experience of a long-established restaurant, with careful consideration given to every detail. |

Issues/Themes | Distinguishing itself from the main store, which evokes the traditions of Senba and Hiranomachi, the new store will be the flagship of all stores nationwide, and will combine "modernity" with "the expression of Mimiu's history and long-establishedness." |
Space Solution/Realization | Senba, Osaka, is a traditional merchant town with a long history of craftsmanship. The restaurant boldly places the "food scene" of "slurping udon noodles and eating hotpot" at the entrance, opening it up to the town, presenting a new style of townhouse and the way of being a long-established restaurant. We focused on the nameless craftsmanship that has supported the food scene, aiming to create a space where you can enjoy the skills along with the taste and experience the history and aspirations. We believe that the "coolness of a long-established restaurant" is to be committed to timeless expression without being eccentric. |

Tomoaki Otsuka
He has experience and know-how in a wide range of fields, including not only specialty stores such as retail stores and restaurants, but also hotels, airports, and large commercial facilities. He strives to enhance the value of hospitality and the message by extracting, fusing, and expressing "values and mechanisms that can only be found here" from the perspectives of both the business owner and the end user. He has also had extensive experience in planning facilities that serve as gateways to local areas, and is involved in collaborations with various local craftsmen and artisans from the perspective of promoting and revitalizing the local area.
